Today I learned the value of the coupon!!!  BLonDe style~

Having recently purchased a JEEP with a V8 engine (no, I have no idea what that means...I'm blonde) I realize that the GAS will be a GUZZLED... However, I was NOT prepared how much it would be GUZZLED when having to take my son who goes to school 1/2 hour away from our home!!!  YEP the first week of having to do this... I immediately realized that I would have to immediately start being a CHOPPER SHOPPER ~ so as to take advantage of the discount gas available on the Advantage card for Price Chopper...  Not really being a HUGE fan of this store didn't even matter ~ I needed to start saving money and NOW!!!

Being out of work right now doesn't help either, but SHOP I did THAT NIGHT!  I took my son (who I should mention is 13 yrs. old) who HATES shopping and I really had a looong night ahead of me (all the while thinking of the HUGE savings) and missing getting some miles in on the treadmill..but shop we did.  I must admit ~ I did have a difficult time shopping here ~ especially when I am used to being PAMPERED by my WONDERFUL friend called WEGMAN'S!!!  BUT I plugged on....  I did find that A LOT of the prices interestingly enough were actually HIGHER than Wegman's (who I might add has always thought of as having higher prices than other stores...and has been dubbed the RICH white girls supermarket) so I was not easily amused.  After spending like 3 hours... according to my teenager...  I get up to the checkout and have a STACK of coupons... BOTH of which I should note came from the paper (SYRACUSE sUNday paper) and some from the internet... and I SAVED (after MANY, MANY beeps from the cash register and looks of ANGER from the other folks standing in line behind me....MUCH to my Chagrin...Irish Blonde...) a TOTAL of $66. off my total bill.  Which was a 1/3 of my bill... so NOT bad ~ right... that's what I say... ALSO saving on my next fill up on that BEAST that I drive soooo all in all a good trip~ So what if I used 4 hours of my time and much of my brain power to do it~ it was worth it~ 

SO I thought... what Price Chopper fails to mention is that you MUST use the disc ALL at ONCE... you need to use the 20 gallons all at one time... NOT in more than one visit to the PUMP!!!! Something I had to learn the hard way~  BUT it's alll good... Don't worry, I'm sure I slipped some coupons in there that I might not have purchased the item for... Maybe...but maybe not... I can't remember... I'm a blonde right?  So

lesson here... I guess if you are willing to hear the RANTS and screams of children and forgo the POSH environment of Wegmans for a day... (UGGGH) you can save SOME money...but was it worth it... I'll have to see... I still think I would have saved more and more time if I'd just stuck with Wegs....and maybe more importantly MY SANITY!!!!

Still $66.... not too shabby... and $4.00 more at the PUMP ~
